Spongebob Squarepants was my childhood. Anyways...
Of course, it's not official, cause I haven't gotten word from the head honcho yet. Well, no one else has either! It's cause we needed someone for a club day at school. Though I would be very pleased if it turned out to be the case. Those close to me know that I crave that position, but as with every limited spot in the world, there will always be competition! I can never be too careful, hahaha!
The Improv Team is actually the only 'team' that I have been in for all my time in high school. So it's safe to say that I'm fairly dedicated to if (there's actually only one other person - that I can remember - that was in improv as long as I have)! Improv was actually the one thing that I looked forward to when I was finishing up grade 9 and entering high school. I was the only person from everyone I knew to be going to this specific high school; everyone else was going to some less-than-favorable overrated one. I was practically a wallflower, except in improv. It's also where I met a bunch of great people who are now some of my awesome friends. Of course, situations change, as I am now a pretty loud and vocal person at times.
I only started joining other clubs the following year. I joined Model UN after some intense negotiations! (I know! I know! That spells out N-E-R-D! But I like to argue - argue against others!) I was skeptical, but it was a very fun experience that I plan on doing again this year.
This year, I would really like to try to join as many clubs as I can! Right now, I don't want to fill up my free time too much, so I need to find the right balance. I actually feel like doing some part-time writing or design work for the school's newspaper. It's editor has been bugging me for quite a while now to write some goodies! My drama teacher is also creating some kind of council to plan our next play, which will be focused on MacBeth. I'm in that one for sure! Some other clubs that stick out in my mind include an environmentally-centered club, a speech club (big maybe), and a social justice club.
As it's my last year, I might as well do everything I can to not only have a good looking resume, but to also give back to the school community that I love so much!
I'll stick my hand into the cookie jar, except these cookies are clubs. Om nom nom nom....
